Types of Continuing Education Programs (CEPs) & Outreach Activities (OAs)

All continuing education and outreach programs, as mentioned above in the mandate of the Center, conducted by or in association with IIITA faculty, departments & centers, shall require approval of the relevant authorities, as applicable and will be administered through C-CEOP if they pertain to any/all of the following conditions:

Applicable Conditions

(As per C-CEOP Guidelines)

  • The program involves the collection or receipt of monetary funds such as registration fees, course fees, sponsorship, CSR, etc.
  • The program issues certificates or degrees under the name and logo of IIIT Allahabad.
  • The program makes use of IIITA infrastructure, facilities, or digital platforms.
  • An illustrative (not exhaustive) classification of such programs is provided below, in accordance with the guidelines.

Types of Continuing Education Programs-CEPs & Outreach Activities-OAs

Degree Programs

Market- or R&D-driven programs designed to meet current and future manpower requirements in industry and academia. E-Masters Online Programs; for example

  • eMTech
  • eMBA

On the lines of regular on-campus academic programs offered by the Institutes, these degree programs, to be in-particular offered in online/hybrid mode, are credit-based and require approval of the Senate and Board of Governors.

Non-Degree Programs

The following programs are designed to enhance professional skills and domain-specific competencies:

a) Need/demand based and domain-specific Certification Programs

to be delivered in Online/hybrid mode typically aimed at bridging skill gaps

  • PG Diploma
  • Short-term Proficiency Certification or Semester-long Proficiency Certification
  • Executive and advanced certification programs (FDPs/MDPs/LDPs)

b) Short-Term Courses / Workshops / Seminars

Typically ranging from 3, 5, or 10 days, conducted in on-campus, off-campus, online, or hybrid modes.

c) Government/Industry Sponsored Programs

Government agencies, Ministries or industry partners sponsor these programs, which may or may not include participant fees.

d) Student-Conducted Programs

Outreach and training programs organised for and/or by IIITA students under approved institutional frameworks.

Outreach Activities-OAs

towards their mandatory submission of Accomplishment (academic and accounts) report to the C-CEOP for record retention.

Academic and professional outreach activities, such as:

  • Conferences (National / International)
  • Seminars, FDPs, Workshops
  • Colloquiums, Webinars, Symposia
  • Short-term internships/Semester-long internships

Program Coordinators of above Institutional Academic Outreach Programs shall disseminate the information such as calls for participation, course offerings, or expressions of interest for such programs, to be released as institute-wide open announcements to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and broad faculty participation.

Institutional Collaboration Programs

Programs conducted in collaboration with, and through an agreement/MoU based mechanism or considerable requests received through legitimate channel/contact for win-win bilateral benefits:

  • Academic institutions
  • R&D organizations
  • Government agencies
  • Industry/corporate/NGOs
